'Tree expedition of Donggwoldo Changdeokgung Palace' to be held from 20th till 30th

SEOUL, April 17 (Yonhap) -- The Cultural Heritage Administration Royal Palaces and Tombs center is conducting a "Tree expedition of Donggwoldo Changdeokgung Palace" from the 20th till the 30th.

Donggwoldo, is a representative Korean painting that depicts the bird's-eye view of the 3,000 trees and buildings in the Changdeokgung and Changgyeonggung palace during the Joseon Dynasty. Estimated to have been made between 1828 and 1830, it has been designated as a national treasure.

During the expedition, a professional commentator will explain the trees in the palace, along with the royal family and historical stories related to it using the Donggwoldo.

The tour will be held from Wednesday to Saturday when during the period of the event.
