SEOUL, Sept. 9 (Yonhap) -- South Korean e-commerce company Interpark Corp, which has recently diversified its business, will officially start its idol business by establishing a subsidiary and recruiting girl group Laboum.
Interpark Music Plus, a subsidiary established by Interpark Corp. in May as a K-pop producing and management company, announced Wednesday that it has recruited girl group Laboum as the company's first girl group.
Laboum debuted in 2014 and its song "Journey to Atlantis," released in April 2016, has recently gained public attention after a remix version was made on popular Korean TV show "Hangout with Yoo."
The girl group was reorganized into a four-member team including, So-yeon, ZN, Haein, and Sol-bin, after Laboum's leader Yoo-jeong recently withdrew from the group. "We are making great efforts to help Laboum prepare for a new album with the goal of making a comeback," Interpark Music Plus said.
Interpark Music Plus is also arranging a rookie K-pop boy group tentatively called "INTER BOYS."
Recently, the members of "INTER BOYS" have actively promoted their group by posting a series of videos that cover songs by famous groups such as BTS and SuperM.
"We plan to establish ourselves as a next generation K-pop artist management company with well-prepared and trained future K-pop stars," Interpark Music Plus said.
