SEOUL, Feb. 24 (Yonhap) -- Lotte Cinema, one of South Korea’s cinema chains, will screen two historical films in the spirit of the Independence Movement Day on Mar. 1.

The home-grown musical film “Hero,” starring Jung Sung-hwa and Kim Go-eun, and historical film “A Resistance,” starring Go Ah-sung and Ryu Kyung-soo, will be visiting the big screens once again.

“Hero,” which hit the local box office last December, tells the story of Ahn Jung-geun, who is one of the most famed Korean independence activists. Meanwhile, “A Resistance” is a heart-wrenching portrayal of a 17-year-old schoolgirl Yu Gwan-sun thrown in prison for her independence movement against the Japanese.
