SEOUL, Sept. 1 (Yonhap) -- Sunmi's fan meeting in Shanghai has been abruptly canceled just four days before the event.

 

Her agency, Abyss Company, said Tuesday on its official social media account that it had decided the event should be canceled after discussions with the local organizer, citing the importance of providing a safe and comfortable environment for both the artist and fans and delivering the level of performance originally promised.

 

Sunmi had been scheduled to hold the fan meeting "Meet SUNMI in Late Summer" on Sept. 5 at NEOVANA in Shanghai.

 

"We sincerely apologize to and feel sorry for the fans who have been waiting for and supporting the fan meeting," Abyss Company said, adding that it would work to arrange another opportunity for Sunmi to meet her Shanghai fans in a better-prepared setting.

 

Tickets already purchased will be fully refunded through the local organizer and each official ticketing platform.
