SEOUL, Oct. 8 (Yonhap) -- K-pop boy group Cortis said Thursday it will "pour out explosive energy" befitting the high-octane atmosphere of Formula One's Singapore Grand Prix 2026.

The group made the remarks ahead of its performance Friday at the Marina Bay Street Circuit in Singapore.

"Singapore is our first visit, and we're very excited to showcase Cortis' music and performances at such a major festival attended by people from around the world," the group said through its agency, BigHit Music.

The F1 Singapore Grand Prix is considered one of Asia's largest motorsports and entertainment events, combining a night race on a city circuit with large-scale concerts.

Cortis will be the only K-pop group among this year's performers and is scheduled to perform for about 50 minutes on the outdoor Padang Stage.

Pop stars including Singaporean singer JJ Lin and Janet Jackson are also on the lineup.

Cortis previously performed at the halftime show of the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game in February.
