SEOUL, Oct. 12 (Yonhap) -- Actor Yoon Kye-sang will turn into clumsy kidnapper in an upcoming drama "Kidnapping Day" (Literal Translation) which is to be aired next year.

Production company Astory, which produced 2022 hit drama "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" and "Big Mouth," announced on Thursday that they have casted Yoon Kye-sang for the upcoming drama.

"Kidnapping Day" is a black comedy that depicts confidential assignment of sloppy abductor and 11-years-old genius girl.

Based on a same name novel by Jung Hae-yeon who is thought to be one of the best author for thriller, the story has both humanism and mystery.

Yoon plays rookie kidnapper Kim Myung-joon who abducts 11-years-old girl to arrange hospital bills for his sick daughter. He becomes intangled in an unexpected case and is chased after as murder suspect.

It has not been confirmed who will play genius girl Rohee who gets kidnapped by kidnapper of weak nerves.

Director Park Yoo-young, who directed "A Model Family," "Love Alarm season 2," and "Kingdom season 1," and writer Kim Je-young, who was praised for "Miss Wife," "Insane," and "Cheese in the Trap," will take charge.

The drama is to be aired in 2023.
