SEOUL, Sept. 12 (Yonhap) -- BTS member RM has donated 100 million won to the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs as part of the "Uniformed Service Members Appreciation Campaign," Big Hit Music announced on the 12th.

The donation, made through the "Everyone's Veterans Dream" initiative, will be used to support the recognition and welfare of veterans, their families, and other uniformed service members. RM expressed, "Lately, I have deeply felt the dedication of so many people serving our country on the front lines. I hope this small contribution can help all the heroes who continue to serve for the nation's peace and those who have made great efforts in the past."

He also thanked BTS fans (ARMY), adding, "I'm sincerely grateful to all the ARMY who always send me overwhelming love and congratulations."

RM, who is celebrating his birthday today, has marked the occasion in recent years with various charitable contributions. In 2021 and 2022, he donated to the Overseas Korean Cultural Heritage Foundation, and last year he contributed to the Korean Society of Forensic Medicine.

RM enlisted in the military last December and is currently serving in the military band.

The "Uniformed Service Members Appreciation Campaign" is an initiative by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs to promote a culture of respect and gratitude for uniformed service members. This year's campaign is titled "Another National Representative That Korea Should Support."
