SEOUL, April 5 (Yonhap)-- The 43rd Jindo Miracle Sea Road Festival is cancelled by Jindo County, Jeollanam-do.

According to Jindo County on the 5th, the Miracle Sea Road Festival that was initially scheduled to be held for three days from the 17th, has been cancelled in order to prevent the spread of Omicron, COVID-19 to the community.

Although the county is cancelling the festival, it is expected for visitors to continue their footsteps to the county, and so promoting activities to refrain them from visiting the beach are being held, including installing a banner for the cancellation of the festival.

An official from the county said, "We decided to cancel the festival because we came to a conclusion that the festival should not be held in a situation where the safety of the county and the visitors are threatened by the rapid increase of omicron, COVID-19."
