SEOUL, July 15 (Yonhap) -- K-pop group BIGBANG has unveiled "XX : COSMOS" as the title of its upcoming world tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of its debut, organizer YG Entertainment said Wednesday.

 

YG posted two promotional posters featuring the tour title on its official social media accounts.

 

According to the agency, "XX : COSMOS" symbolizes both the group's 20-year journey and the new chapter that lies ahead, with the members themselves contributing the idea for the tour name.

 

"'XX' represents BIGBANG's 20 years since its debut, while 'COSMOS' refers to the cosmic concept of connection, relationships and continuity," YG said. "Just as the word 'cosmos' signifies everything that has existed in the past and present and will continue to exist in the future, the title symbolizes BIGBANG's two-decade musical journey and the time the group has shared with its fans."

 

BIGBANG will kick off the "XX : COSMOS" world tour with concerts at Goyang Stadium's main venue, just northwest of Seoul, on Aug. 21-23.

 

Following the recent addition of a concert in Manila, the Philippines, the group is scheduled to meet fans through 33 concerts in 19 cities worldwide.
