SEOUL, Jan. 7 (Yonhap) – K-pop girl group Fromis 9 has surpassed 80,000 copies of presales for the fourth mini album “Midnight Guest,” which will be released on Jan. 17.

“Midnight Guest” has exceeded 80,000 copies of presales in 5 days since they started the presales on Dec. 30 until Jan. 3, according to the agency Pledis Entertainment and the distributor YG Plus on Jan. 7.

The record doubles the first week sales of 37,000 copies for the single album “9 WAY TICKET,” which was released in May, 2020. According to the agency, it is the highest record of the group based on the standard of album’s presales.

The agency said, “Fromis 9 shows the great album power as it doubles the record of the previous album in just 5 days since we started presales,” adding, “There are high expectations from the fans towards the group’s music and performances with the new album.”

Fromis 9 is a 9-member girl group formed through Mnet “Idol School,” which was aired in 2017, and debuted in the following year.

By showing refreshing energy with the special single “Talk & Talk” last year, the group has achieved high rank on the music charts and ranked No.1 at the music program for the first time since the debut.
