SEOUL, November 2 (Yonhap) -- The Arts Council Korea will be holding its seventh "2022 Literature Week-The Relationship Between Two" for five days starting November 7, at different spots in Korea, including the Marronnier Park, 00 Ground, and more.
Literature Week is a literature festival where literary figures, publishers, and readers come together. The theme of the festival this year is "The Relationship Between Two," and it will be a place to understand and discover diverse relationships through literature. 48 programs are prepared all around Korea, and 130 literary figures and artists will be participating.
Oh Eun, poet, and writer Jung Ji-ah, who wrote "Father's Liberation Note," will hold an opening talk on the opening day, November 7, at 4 p.m. Author Jung will look back on the life of her father, who lived through the ups and downs of modern history, discovering the relationship between his father and those around him, with the topic of "Father's Liberation Journal," which tells the story of a three-day funeral for a former partisan father.
On the same day, at 7 p.m., there will be a stage reading performance by Han-gang, author and pianist. It will be a collaborative stage between Han-gang, who won the Booker Prize International, a British literary award, and a pianist who understands his literature.
Various types of programs, such as reading plays and talks, will be held at the "Literature Week Stage" organized by literary people and the "Cooperation Stage" prepared with related organizations.
Author Chang Kang-myoung, who recently published the long novel "Re-investigation," will recite some parts of the novel under the title "The Relationship between Writer and Reader" on the outdoor stage at Marronier Park at 12 p.m. on November 8 and share anecdotes about the process until the novel was released.
Kim Yeon-so author, and Cho Yeon-joo, editor, will take part in the "Text and Recital," which will be held at Parangsae Theater, at 7 p.m. on November 7. The artist Kim Yeon-soo will look into the subtle waves that occur when text is changed into a voice language. They will also read new, unpublished short stories and play music selected for the audience.
The event will also approach the relationship between humans and technology through literature.
Kim Byung-ik will talk about "human and technological change, literature between the two" at 2 p.m. on November 9, and writer Yoon Go-eun and director Oh Young-jin of "Night Travelers" will present a collaborated live performance at 7 p.m. on the same day.
A stage reading will be held on November 11 at 7 p.m. for the closing of the festival. The stage will be performed by two people, following the theme of the event, and actors Lee Ho-seong and Lee Yeong-seok will be performing.
14 portraits of Korean authors taken by photographer Daheum Baek will be exhibited during the photo exhibition "Between the Two People, the Faces of Writers" held at Marronnier Park.
The event will point out the connection between the two partnered authors, Lee Seong-bok and Kim Hye-soon, Heo Su-kyung-Jang Seok-nam, Park Wan-seo-Oh Jeong-hee, Han Kang-Lim Sol-ah, etc.
In addition, events in which literary scholars will participate will be prepared at regional literature centers and bookstores in Gyeonggi-do, Daegu, Daejeon, Jeonnam, Busan, and Jeju.
