SEOUL April 11 (Yonhap) -- S.Korean drama series "The 8 Show," starring Cheon Woo-hee, Ryu Jun-yeol, Park Jeong-min, and others, will be unveiled next month.

Netflix announced on the 11th that the original series "The 8 Show" will be released on the 17th of next month.

"The 8 Show" depicts the events that unfold as eight participants invited to a mysterious show are confined to a secretive space divided into eight layers, following the simple rule that "money accumulates over time." The series is based on the webtoons "Money Game" and "Pie Game" by writer Bae Jin-soo.

The eight characters participating in the show are portrayed by Ryu Jun-yeol, Cheon Woo-hee, Park Jeong-min, Lee Yul-eum, Park Hae-jun, Lee Joo-young, Moon Jeong-hee, and Bae Seong-woo.

"The 8 Show" also marks the directorial debut of Han Jae-rim in a series. Han, known for directing films such as "The Face Reader" (2013), "The King" (2016), and "Emergency Declaration" (2022), helms the series.
