SEOUL, Jan. 23 (Yonhap) -- BTS's Jungkook recorded the most-played video on the global fan platform Weverse last year, according to its "2024 Weverse Fandom Trends" report released on Thursday.
Weverse Live, a service enabling real-time interaction between artists and fans via video, streamed 5,787 live sessions totaling 4,779 hours in 2024. These broadcasts amassed 11.25 million cumulative viewers and 426 million playbacks.
Jungkook’s broadcast titled "I Missed You So Much," held last month, garnered 23 million playbacks, the highest among all videos. During the 2.5-hour live session, Jungkook sang over 30 songs and engaged with fans in a heartfelt exchange.
Artist communities and the Weverse Direct Message (DM) service saw significant activity last year. Artists posted approximately 206,000 community updates, while fans responded with 370 million posts.
Mujin from The Kingdom emerged as the most active artist, accessing Weverse 3,451 times—an average of nine times a day.
In terms of DMs, artists sent 698,000 messages, while fans sent a staggering 96.36 million. Actor Byeon Woo-seok received 16.4 million DMs, making him the most messaged artist on the platform.
In 2024, 53 new artists joined Weverse, including international stars like Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa, Conan Gray, J-pop duo YOASOBI, and Korean stars Byeon Woo-seok and trot singer Young Tak.
Byeon Woo-seok attracted the highest number of new fans, with 74,000 users joining his community on its opening day alone.
Weverse's user base grew by an average of 19% across all continents, including Asia, Europe, and Africa.
Weverse Shop sold 20.6 million items in 2024, marking a 13% increase from the previous year. Physical product sales, such as albums, rose by 10%, while digital products like artist memberships saw a 24% increase, totaling 3.4 million units sold.
