SEOUL, July 23 (Yonhap) -- Actors Kim Jung-hyun and Keum Sae-rok will be teaming up for a new KBS weekend drama. KBS announced on the 23rd that their new special weekend drama 'Iron Family' will air in mid-September on KBS 2TV.
'Iron Family' is a romantic comedy centered around the Darim family, who run the "Integrity Laundry" and iron money instead of clothes. Keum Sae-rok will play the role of Lee Darim, the youngest daughter in a family that has operated the laundry for three generations. Darim, who is visually impaired, is always cheerful and determined. She discovers a way to treat her visual impairment miraculously but is disheartened by the exorbitant cost of the treatment.
Kim Jung-hyun will portray Seo Kang-joo, the son of the wealthiest family in Cheongryeom-dong and an executive director of the Jiseung Group. He reunites with Lee Darim, whom he attended the same university with, after eight years.
Actors Shin Hyun-joon and Kim Hye-eun will appear as Jiseung Group's chairman Ji Seung-don and his wife Baek Ji-yeon, respectively, while Park Ji-young will play Go Bong-hee, Lee Darim's mother.
The drama is penned by writer Seo Sook-hyang, known for works like 'Jealousy Incarnate' and 'Pasta,' and directed by Sung Joon-hae, who has worked on 'Cheer Up, Mr. Kim!', 'No Matter What,' and 'Please Summer.'
