SEOUL, April 24 (Yonhap) -- "I've always talked about wanting to appear on KBS music talk shows since my debut. But to be named the MC of this dream stage is an honor that I can't put into words. It's the best dopamine I've received this year."

 

Singer Zico, designated as the MC for KBS 2TV's music talk program 'The Seasons - Zico's Artist', met with the audience for the first public recording on the afternoon of the 23rd at the KBS Open Hall in Yeouido. This marks Zico's first time as a solo MC.

 

Zico expressed his excitement, saying, "Today, 1,600 audience members came and waited in line since yesterday afternoon. I'm incredibly thankful. I can't control my emotions. I won't forget this moment."

 

KBS revealed that the competition rate for audience attendance on this day was as high as 35 to 1.

On stage that day, Dynamic Duo kicked off the performances followed by Choi Baek-ho, idol group Kiss of Life, Rain, comedian Lee Yong-jin, and Crush.

 

Rain performed 'How to Run From the Sun', 'Rainism', and 'It's Raining'. He also sang 'Summer Hate', Zico's 2020 song featuring Rain, receiving cheers and applause from the audience.

 

Choi Baek-ho sang 'About Romance' and 'End of the Sea' that day. Zico, aware of Choi Baek-ho's birthday on April 23rd, prepared a cake and a bouquet of flowers, but there was a funny incident when Choi Baek-ho revealed, "My birthday is based on the lunar calendar."

 

Comedian Lee Yong-jin, who appeared with Zico on the SBS variety show 'Math in the Jungle' last year, captured attention with his impressive vocal skills singing 'If I Were Like You' originally by Park Sangtae.

 

Crush surprised Zico by appearing as an unexpected guest, performing the song 'Sorry, I Hate You, I Love You' from the drama 'Queen of Tears' (tvN), and received applause.

 

Dynamic Duo, celebrating their 20th debut anniversary this year, debuted their new song 'Pitapat' for the first time on stage that day, and Kiss of Life adorned the stage with their recent release 'Midas Touch'.

At the end of the performance, MC Zico took to the stage to sing 'Spot!', scheduled for release on the 26th of this month. He followed it up with the 2017 hit 'Artist', receiving cheers from the audience.

 

The performance was set up for interactive communication with the audience, with the front seats left standing for a closer view. Singers who took the stage engaged with Zico and the audience by standing and chatting without sitting in chairs.

 

Zico, showing slight nervousness during the performance, glanced at the script frequently and momentarily forgot what he wanted to say, eliciting laughter from the audience.

 

Singers like Dynamic Duo, Rain, and Crush, who are close to Zico, commented, "It's the first time seeing Zico so nervous," and when Zico asked Choi Baek-ho if he has any tips for not shaking, Choi Baek-ho jokingly replied, "Just don't shake," which made the audience burst into laughter.

 

'The Seasons - Zico's Artist' will air every Friday at 10 p.m. starting from the 26th.
