SEOUL, May 20 (Yonhap) -- BTS's fifth studio album "ARIRANG" has remained in the top 10 of the U.S. Billboard main albums chart for eight consecutive weeks.
According to Billboard on Tuesday, "ARIRANG" ranked eighth on the Billboard 200, slipping one spot from the previous week.
The album became the first K-pop release to top the chart for three consecutive weeks following its release and had ranked third, fourth, fifth and seventh over the past four weeks.
The album's title track, "SWIM," placed 34th on the Hot 100 singles chart, down four spots from the previous week.
The song also reclaimed the top spot on Billboard's global chart excluding the United States for the sixth time overall. After holding No. 1 for four consecutive weeks, the track fell to second place for two weeks before returning to the top for another two straight weeks.
Meanwhile, "GREENGREEN," the second EP by Cortis, which belongs to the same agency as BTS, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.
The original soundtrack album for KPop Demon Hunters ranked 22nd, while KATSEYE's "Beautiful Chaos" came in at No. 136.
On the Hot 100, "Dracula" by Tame Impala, featuring Jennie on the remix version, stayed at No. 10 for a second straight week. "Golden" from the "KPop Demon Hunters" soundtrack ranked 13th, while KATSEYE's "Pinky Up" landed at No. 76.
Following the release of the biographical film Michael, a total of 11 albums or songs by Michael Jackson entered Billboard's main charts.
His albums "Thriller" and "Number Ones" maintained their positions at Nos. 5 and 6, respectively, on the Billboard 200.
On the Hot 100, "Billie Jean" climbed two spots from the previous week to rank 15th.
