SEOUL, June 15 (Yonhap) -- The Cultural Heritage Administration Royal Palaces and Tombs Center announced on Wednesday that it will be operating a free Spanish commentary program at Gyeongbokgung Palace from June 17.
The Spanish commentary starts every Friday and Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Those who want to hear the commentary can go to the free commentary guide sign inside the Heungnyemun Gate.
The Cultural Heritage Administration Royal Palaces and Tombs Center explained that this is the first time for the Spanish-language commentary to be offered among the four major palaces, namely Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung, Changgyeonggung and Deoksugung Palace.
"With the Spanish-speaking population exceeding 500 million, we have established a commentary program to provide spanish-speaking tourists with accurate information about the history and culture of Joseon," said an official from the Cultural Heritage Administration Royal Palaces and Tombs Center.
In addition to Spanish, Gyeongbokgung Palace offers commentary programs in English, Chinese, Japanese, Indonesian, and Vietnamese.
