SEOUL, April 21 (Yonhap) -- Actors Jung So-min and Kim Yo-han will team up in a new fantasy historical romance series, industry sources said Tuesday.
The two will star in the series, tentatively titled "The Seventeenth Day of the Rising Moon," about Heo Seol-hee, a revenge-seeking Joseon-era woman who loses everything and returns to her 20-year-old self.
Jung will play Heo Seol-hee, a character hailed as a genius from a young age who struggles to reclaim what she has lost. Kim will take on the role of Lee Hyun, a man who lives completely cut off from the outside world within the confines of his home.
Written by Kim Eun-yu, the series won the grand prize at the 2023 KT Studio Genie drama competition. Judges at the time praised it as “a work with strong character appeal and narrative structure that could gain broad popularity.”
The project marks Jung’s return to the fantasy historical genre four years after tvN’s "Alchemy of Souls," while it will be Kim’s first appearance in a historical drama.
Directed by Park Won-kook, known for "Marry My Husband" and "Spring Fever," the series is scheduled to begin filming this year and air in 2027.
