SEOUL, Oct. 22 (Yonhap) -- K-pop girl group TWICE, celebrating its 10th debut anniversary this year, has landed multiple songs on Billboard’s main singles and albums charts, showcasing its enduring global popularity.
According to Billboard on Tuesday (U.S. time), TWICE ranked No. 63 on the Hot 100 with “Strategy” and No. 67 with “Takedown,” an original soundtrack (OST) from “K-pop Demon Hunters,” sung by members Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung.
The group’s 10th-anniversary special album “TEN: The Story Goes On” debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, while its fourth full-length album “THIS IS FOR” placed at No. 117.
Despite strong competition from the release of pop star Taylor Swift’s new album, several songs from the “K-pop Demon Hunters” OST also entered the Hot 100, including “Golden” (No. 3), “Soda Pop” (No. 19), “Your Idol” (No. 20), “How It’s Done” (No. 25), “What It Sounds Like” (No. 30), and “Takedown” (No. 32).
HYBE’s U.S.–Korea joint girl group Cat’s Eye ranked No. 41 with “Gabriela” and No. 98 with “Gnarly.” BLACKPINK’s Jisoo also entered the chart at No. 72 with “Eyes Closed,” her collaboration with pop star Jain.
On the Billboard 200, the “K-pop Demon Hunters” OST placed No. 2, followed by Cat’s Eye’s “Beautiful Chaos” at No. 29, Stray Kids’ “KARMA” at No. 51, and Cortiz’s “COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES” at No. 171. The SEVENTEEN unit S.Coups X Mingyu made its chart debut at No. 71 with “HYPE VIBES.”
