SEOUL, Apr. 5 (Yonhap) -- The Lotte World Tower will hold the 2023 LOTAWA Spring(literally translated) event from Friday to April 16, the tallest building in South Korea announced Wednesday.
It will mark the first event organized by the Tower since spring 2021 when an online spring event was carried out due to the global COVID-19 pandemic during which cherry blossom stroll ASMR (automatic sensory meridian response) or videos of busking bands were showcased.
With COVID-related restrictions coming to an end, this year’s long-awaited spring event will be filled with even more diverse programs: The Tower plans to provide picnic mats and bean bags in the outdoor space so that anyone can use them freely. Busking bands will perform on Fridays and weekends, along with a special busking audition that is scheduled to be held on April 15.
Among the 560 bands that made entries until last Sunday, only 10 teams will make it to the finals.
In the meantime, on the south side of the World Park, eye-catching flea markets will be opened on Fridays and weekends, along with the Amazing Belly Bear exhibition that will be held until April 23.
Lotte World Tower expects the Tower to be flocked with even greater crowds in the upcoming weekends as the Tower greeted a whopping 550,000 visitors only over the last weekend.
