SEOUL, June 4 (Yonhap) -- K-pop girl group MAMAMOO will release its special single "4WARD" at 6 p.m. Thursday, the band's agency RBW said.

The release marks MAMAMOO's first new group song in three years and eight months since its 12th mini album, released in October 2022.

The single's title combines the number "4," representing the group's four members, with the word "forward."

The lead track, "4 Flower," is a medium-tempo pop song featuring a sophisticated guitar melody and dense drum sounds. Through the song, the members sing about values and relationships that remain unchanged over time, likening them to flowers that bloom and fade yet ultimately remain connected through a single root.

MAMAMOO will launch its new world tour, also titled "4WARD," with concerts at Olympic Hall in Seoul's Olympic Park from June 19-21.

The group will then travel to major cities across Asia and the Americas.

Since debuting in June 2014, MAMAMOO has produced a string of hit songs, including "You're the Best," "Yes I Am" and "Starry Night."
