First snow on Deogyusan

The first snow has touched Deogyusan peak, a famous mountain in the North Jeolla Province, Tuesday. 

 

The Deogyusan National Park has announced that Korea's first snow has fallen on its peak, Hyangjeokbong (altitude of 1,614 meters) Tuesday morning. . 


The snowfall was 3cm thick at 9 a.m. 

As it is still snowing, the peak will soon be covered with white snow, 

Deogyusan means "virtuous and rich mountain." A gondola is installed to the top so climbers can go up the mountain even in winter. 

Over 20 meters of snowy-white ridges ripple like ocean waves to exert the beauty of pure white.
