SEOUL, July 24 (Yonhap) -- SM Entertainment announced on the 24th that SHINee's Minho has been selected by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as an 'Olympic Friend' and will attend the Paris 2024 Olympics.

 

The 'Olympic Friends' program, newly established by the IOC, aims to spread the values of the Olympics through the involvement of famous personalities who are not athletes. 

 

Minho was chosen as an 'Olympic Friend' last year and has since participated in various promotional activities for the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games, including serving as a torchbearer and meeting with luge athletes to experience the sport firsthand.

 

At the Paris 2024 Olympics, Minho will attend various events, share the excitement of the games with the audience, and offer his support to the South Korean athletes.

 

In addition to his Olympic activities, Minho will star as Nam Tae-pyeong in JTBC's new weekend drama "Family X Melodrama," premiering on August 10th. He is also cast in the role of Val in the play "Waiting for Godot," which opens on September 7th at Yes24 Stage Hall 3, marking his debut on the theater stage.
