SEOUL, Sept. 8 (Yonhap) -- Haechan of boy group NCT will release his first solo full-length album "Taste" at 6 p.m. Monday, his agency SM Entertainment said.
"From musical genres and sounds to performance and mood, I filled the album with my own preferences. I believe it truly represents who I am," Haechan said through the agency.
He added, "While group activities have allowed me to show different sides of myself, for this solo album I wanted to focus on filling the stage alone and delivering my own charm. I paid close attention so that I could convey my music and sincerity."
"Taste" reflects the singer’s musical tastes, centering on his favorite genre R&B, while also spanning soul, hip-hop and jazz across 11 tracks.
The title track "CRZY" features a powerful hip-hop rhythm reminiscent of the early 2000s, layered with guitar riffs and Haechan’s rhythmic vocals. The lyrics depict a moment of temptation toward a captivating stranger encountered by chance.
"I thought this was the song that best showcased my strengths," Haechan said. "I was confident it would be a strong starting point to greet fans with my solo debut."
Following the album release, Haechan is set to appear on music programs and perform on various stages. He expressed hopes that the album will remain beloved by fans for years to come.
"My goal with this album was to create music that fans could listen to for a long time. I hope it becomes an album they keep coming back to even as time passes," he said.
