SEOUL, Oct. 25 (Yonhap) -- Kim Soo-mi, beloved for her role as 'Ilyong's Mother' in the long-running drama "Country Diaries" passed away at the age of 75.

 

According to the Seocho Police Station on the 25th, Kim was transported to Seoul St. Mary's Hospital in Seocho District after suffering cardiac arrest around 8 a.m.

Despite efforts to revive her, she was pronounced dead shortly after. The police are currently investigating the details surrounding her death.

 

Kim had taken a temporary hiatus from her career in May due to exhaustion. 

 

At that time, she was reportedly hospitalized at Hanyang University Hospital in Seongdong District, following a diagnosis that she required rest after experiencing fatigue from overlapping performances and broadcast activities.
