Xia Junsu to star 10th anniv. performance of musical ‘Dracula’
SEOUL, Sept. 14 (Yonhap) -- Globally followed singer-performer Kim Junsu, musical star Jeon Dong-suk, and actor Shin Sung-rok will take on the lead roles in the 10th-anniversary performance of musical “Dracula,” the producer said on Thursday.
The fantasy romance musical will run from Dec. 6 to March 3 at Seoul's Charlotte Theater, according to OD Company, the program’s production firm.
Dracula is based on Bram Stoker's novel of the same name, which portrays the tragic love of Count Dracula, a vampire. The performance takes after the Broadway version that was originally premiered in the U.S. in 2001, composed by Frank Wildhorn, best known for another hit musical “Jekyll & Hyde.”
Kim Jun-su, who also goes by stage name Xia Junsu, has been part of the production since its Korean premiere in 2014. He will be playing the role of Dracula for the fifth time.
The role of Mina, the woman Dracula loves, will be played by Lim Hye-young, Jeong Sun-ah, and Ivy.
Van Helsing, the enemy of Dracula, will be played by Son Jun-ho and Park Eunseok.
Jonathan, the fiancé of Mina, will be performed by Jin Tae-hwa and Im Jun-hyeok.
