SEOUL, Oct. 6 (Yonhap) -- Kim Jong-min, TV persona and a member of coed group Koyote, is set to become a father.

 

Koyote's agency, JG Star, said Tuesday, "Kim Jong-min and his wife are preparing for the birth of their first child," adding that details, including the baby's sex, will be revealed on the KBS 2TV variety show "The Return of Superman" airing Tuesday.

 

The 47-year-old soon-to-be-father recently announced his wife's pregnancy during the filming of "The Return of Superman," saying, "My wife is 17 weeks pregnant."

 

According to the production team, Kim expressed his excitement, saying, "I abstained from alcohol and took care of my health for a year so that I could have a child." He added, "I think that's why the baby came to us so quickly."

 

Kim married his wife, a businesswoman, in April last year.

 

He has previously expressed his desire to have a child on KBS 2TV's "2 Days & 1 Night" and "The Return of Superman," on which he is a regular cast member, as well as SBS' "My Little Old Boy," saying that his lifelong wish was to become a father.
