SEOUL, Apr. 19 (Yonhap) -- South Korean red-hot rookie girl group FIFTY FIFTY has reached another milestone by maintaining its presence in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 for four consecutive weeks with its debut single “Cupid.”
Per Billboard on Tuesday (local time), this budding quartet’s single “Cupid,” released in February, climbed to 60th place, going up 25 notches from the previous week and scoring its peak position since its entry into the Hot 100 chart in March.
The act’s “Cupid” has also been playing out as their hit single locked up its place in the Global 200 chart and climbed up to No. 13, which is also the quartet’s all-time highest so far.
Meanwhile, K-pop chart supremo BLACKPINK’s Jisoo was also spotted in both charts, sitting in 11th place in the Global 200 and sixth in the Global Excluding U.S. chart. Billboard reportedly releases both charts based on streaming and download figures gathered from more than 200 regions around the world.
In the meantime, another rookie girl group IVE entered the Global 200 chart and touched down in No. 52 with “I AM,” the title track off the sextet’s very first studio album released last week. The act’s pre-released track “Kitsch” settled in 76th place in the same chart, climbing up 14 notches compared to the previous week.
NewJeans’ mega-hit tracks “OMG,” “Ditto,” and “Hype Boy” recorded 36th, 66th, and 155th places in the Global 200 chart, respectively. BLACKPINK also claimed a spot in the chart for the 26th week with its “Shut Down” filling up 189th place.
Boy band TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) also maintained its presence with its 5th mini album “The Name Chapter: Temptation” hitting the number 98 spot on the Billboard 200, successfully entering the album chart for 11 weeks in a row.
Another chart supremo TWICE is also continuing to play out as the act’s mini album “Ready to Be” locked up a fifth week at No. 72.
