SEOUL, July 9 (Yonhap) -- Veteran K-pop group Super Junior celebrated their 20th anniversary Tuesday with the release of their 12th full-length album, "Super Junior 25", their agency SM Entertainment announced.

The album commemorates the two-decade milestone since the group’s debut in 2005, and features nine tracks across various genres, including the title song "Express Mode". The energetic uptempo club-pop track delivers a message of ambition and forward momentum, with members expressing their determination to keep pushing toward new goals.

“This marks 20 years together for Super Junior,” said leader Leeteuk. “It’s been such an incredible journey. With this album, we aim to create even more amazing moments moving forward.”

Yesung shared, “I still vividly remember our rookie days, so it’s hard to believe we’re already celebrating our 20th anniversary with our 12th album. Time really flies.”

Siwon added, “It’s been a long time — almost hard to believe — but every moment has been meaningful. This album became even more special thanks to our fellow members, staff, and especially the fans who’ve stayed by our side.”

Super Junior debuted in 2005 with their first album "Super Junior05", quickly rising to fame with hits such as "Sorry, Sorry", "Bonamana", and "U". As one of the representative idol groups of K-pop’s second generation, the members have also built successful careers in acting, variety shows, solo music, and unit promotions. The name of their new album draws inspiration from their debut release.

Donghae reflected on how the group’s bond has evolved: “What has changed most is how we feel about the team. Our desire to protect Super Junior together has only grown stronger. What hasn’t changed is our love for ELF [our fan base].”

Ryeowook noted, “Our chemistry and quick banter haven’t changed a bit. Even without a script, just setting up a camera with the members would be enough to create a million pieces of content.”

Super Junior is also gearing up for their 10th global concert tour "SUPER SHOW 10", which will kick off August 23–24 at the KSPO Dome in Seoul. The tour will span 16 cities worldwide, including Hong Kong, Jakarta, Manila, and Mexico City. As their long-running "Super Show" concert series nears its 200th performance, anticipation is high.

“I’ve been diligently practicing singing,” said Ryeowook. “I want to deliver great performances for ELF and can’t wait to repay their love through our concerts.”

Leeteuk shared long-term aspirations for the tour: “When it comes to performance milestones, our goal is to keep adding new numbers — 300 shows, 400 shows. I hope 'Super Show' will continue to evolve into new and diverse content as time goes on.”

Kyuhyun added, “I hope this tour allows us to visit places we’ve never been. I even dream of a future where ELF live all over the world.”

Super Junior will hold an online showcase for the new album via their official YouTube channel at 9 p.m. Monday.

“With this album, we want to share the 20-year journey we’ve walked and the stories contained within with the next generation,” said Siwon. “I hope this journey can bring even a little courage or hope to someone.”
