SEOUL March 16 (Yonhap) -- “If it wasn’t for Dong-eun, protagonist acted by Song Hye-kyo Hye-jeong would have been the victim of the school bullying, throughout the production I was worried that the horrendous action of Hye-jeong would be justified by the nature of drama.” Addressed actress Cha Joo-young throughout the interview conducted at a small little café located in Jongno district of Seoul on Thursday.


Throughout the interview actress showcased polar opposite atmosphere from the character she enacted in world famous South Korean Netflix series “The Glory.”

Answers actress addressed to various question made the interviewers nod their heads, because it showcased her ambition and passion for her acting career.

Antagonistic figure Choi Hye-jeong acted by actress Cha Joo-young is a complex character which tries her best in order to enter into the world of rich high class society.

Throughout antagonist’s school days, Hye-jeong continues to do the chores for Park Yeon-jin and Lee Sa-ra in order to maintain her relationship with the kids from rich and wealthy family and continue forward with bulling the unfortunate victim.

“I personally thought the potential harm Hye-jeong might face for not bullying a victim should not come across as a reason for her to inflict trauma to the victim.” addressed actress Cha Joo-young throughout her interview.

Continuing on actress addressed, “Unlike Dong-eun, Choi Hye-jeong ended up becoming the antagonist due to her own personal ambition, therefore her actions should not be taken lightly and should be accepted in any ways.”

Hye-jeong who became a flight attendance manages to pull her social status up a bit and creates solid foundation as an adult of the society.

Within the boundary of school Hye-jeong was classified as a daughter of a laundry owner. Despite of her current status in life she continues to hang out with Lee Sa-ra and Park Yeon-jin throughout their unkindness.

“Despite of Hye-jeong’s ability to cut ties with her childhood friends, I could not understand Hye-jeong’s choice of continuing on with the friendship,” addressed actress Cha Joo-young.

Moreover, actress stated “I feel like Hye-jeong was caught up in the moment of glory and all the things she receives by being part of the group.”

Throughout the series, Choi Hye-jeong takes off her clothes in front of Park Yeon-jin in a very imposing manner, by doing so, she attracted a lot of viewers attention.

Cha Joo-young addressed that she received a lot of help from computer graphic artists and others in order to make the scene work. Actress addressed “I think it was one of the most needed scene for my character throughout the series, because the only thing she can outrun Yeon-jin is her beauty” adding “That is the scene where Choi Hye-jeong is confident in front of Park Yeon-jin, therefore in my perspective it showcases Hye-jeong’s blow towards Yeon-jin.”
Actress who debuted at the age of 26 which is considerably late compare to other artists the opportunity to be part of the production of “The Glory” was a god given chance.

Actress also addressed that she survived through the harsh times tying to audition for a role. She participated in auditions for over two months looking for a role to act out.

“It was the last day of the production meeting with the director, and I personally thought I have showcased my charms enough, and wanted to show who I was, and when I walked in to the meeting, director asked me how I have been lately, my answer to her question was ‘My life’s been full of crap,’ thankfully director laughed out loud and addressed this was what she was looking for.” adding “The scrip was mind-blowing, therefore every actress and actors who participated in the production tried their best in order to be true to the scrip.” addressed actress Cha throughout her interview.

Moreover, actress addressed “The line by the owner of the apartment complex, was very touching for me, especially the one where she states ‘Lets die in the spring.’” continuing on actress Cha stated “When one’s life seems to be blocked by everything and bothered by everything, the life I mention seemed to have a hidden meaning of if we all plow through and survive those hard times the good and happy days will shine infront of us. As an actress I have been through tough times, however the glory I have faced in the end made me think that I have suffered in order to meet the happy ending myself.”

Actress Cha Joo-young who have studied abroad in Malaysia and graduated college in the United States, addressed that she carefully asked their family to give her some time to find her true passion and to walk the path of actress.

“When the requested time was due, I had wondered whether my decision to pursuit the dream of being an actress was a wrongful choice, however it solidified my want and ambition to become an actress in the future.” adding “I kept telling myself I had nothing, I was nothing, I have nothing, to keep myself motivated throughout the process of auditioning.” addressed actress Cha Joo-young throughout her interview.

Actress, who have faced a turning point as she participated in the production of world well known Netflix series “The Glory” addressed while showcasing a smile “There are so many things I have not yet to try, therefore I am ok with the love and interest a lot of audiences have of me.” adding “When the part one was released, I tried to avoid looking in to the comments because I tried to stay firm to the ground, because we have to continue on forward, therefore I would like to enjoy the time I have before I join another production.”
