SEOUL, July 29 (Yonhap) -- Actress Moon Geun-young, once dubbed the nation's "little sister," has quietly married musical actor Jung Pyung, who is seven years her senior, her agency said Wednesday.

 

Cre Company confirmed that Moon and Jung recently tied the knot but did not disclose the date of the wedding or other details.

 

The couple had been in a long-term relationship and held a private ceremony attended only by family members over a simple meal.

 

In a handwritten letter posted on her social media account Wednesday, Moon shared the news with fans.

 

"I met someone with whom I want to walk the road I had always walked alone, someone with whom I want to share the moments I used to face by myself, and someone I want to make smile even over the smallest things," she wrote.

 

"I want to fill the rest of my life not alone, but together with the two of us," she added.

 

Moon debuted in the 1999 film "On the Way" and rose to stardom through numerous films and television dramas, including "A Tale of Two Sisters," "My Little Bride," "Autumn in My Heart," "Cinderella's Sister" and "Painter of the Wind," earning the nickname "the nation's little sister."

 

She recently appeared in the play "Orphans" and has completed filming director Yeon Sang-ho's upcoming film "Yeto."

 

Jung debuted in 2007 and has appeared in numerous stage productions, including the musicals "Aida," "Laundry," "Agatha" and "A Million Roses," as well as the play "Liar."

 

He has also worked with the creative directing collective "Bachi," founded by Moon.
