SEOUL, Sept. 9 (Yonhap) -- Nana, a former member of girl group After School, will release her first solo album in 16 years since debut, her agency Sublime said Tuesday.
The album, titled "Seventh Heaven 16," will be unveiled Sept. 14. It reflects the trajectory of Nana’s 16-year career as well as her present self. The title "Seventh Heaven" refers both to the highest level of heaven and the idiomatic expression meaning "supreme happiness."
Nana revealed the album poster on the agency’s official social media the previous day, announcing the upcoming release.
"The release date, Sept. 14, is also Nana’s birthday," the agency said. "She prepared this meaningful gift to commemorate both her birthday and her approaching 16th debut anniversary in a special way."
Nana debuted with After School in 2009, releasing hit tracks such as "Bang" and "Flashback." She also gained popularity as part of the unit group Orange Caramel, known for distinctive songs like "Magic Girl" and "Catallena."
Since appearing in the 2016 drama "The Good Wife," she has focused on her acting career, starring in works such as "Mask Girl" and "Omniscient Reader."
