K-pop girl group successfully performs solo concert at KSPO Dome

SEOUL April 3 (Yonhap) -- Members of Red Velvet which dressed up in a cherry blossom colored apparel throughout their concert, girl group Red Velvet’s Joy, Irene, addressed “Those within the segment, if we run, please scream out loud,” and ran through the T shaped stage fans held up the chanting light to decorate the scene to create a memorable scenery.

Girl Group Red Velvet addressed throughout their fourth solo concert, “R to V” which took place in KSPO Dome Seoul, on April 2, “It is our first time performing in front of the audience in three years, therefore we had a lot of fun preparing,” adding “Since we have to continue on with our concerts abroad as well, we hope to hear more chant and cheers from you guys.”

The concert which recently took place is a first concert held by the group in over three years due to wide spread of Covid 19 since they last performed in November of 2019.

Five of the members who got on to the stage through the music box shaped sculpture with enchanting facial expressions.

Throughout the concert the group showcased about 24 of their well known tracks themed under vibrant “red” and enchanting “Velvet.

Red Velvet performed well known tracks such as “Peek-A-Boo,” “Psycho,” “Feel My Rhythem,” and more at the well decorated stage which reminded the audience of spring garden. Over seven thousand of the audiences who visited the concert screamed out loud as the concert continued on.

On the first day of group’s concert, Red Velvet proceeded from Velvet concept to Red concept whereas on the second day, the concert showcased reversed thematic change.

Joy from Red Velvet addressed “Red Velvet, is well known for being able to showcase dynamic colors throughout their tracks for instance, very bold and strong image which is represented by the color red, and smooth and elegant velvet,” adding “In order to showcase our ability to portray significantly different sides, we have planned out our concert under the title of ‘R to V.’”

Moreover, Irene from Red Velvet addressed “It has been three years since we last performed in front of our fans,” adding “There are a lot of tracks which has not been performed lately however through our concert we plan to show it to you guys, all.”

During the process of preparing for the concert well known choreographer Choi Young-jun participated as the performance director, and dance team which consists of 25 of the members have performed alongside the members.

Various backdrops and unique set variations such as gigantic music box and more provides interesting aspect for viewers to be entertained with throughout the concert.

Starting off with concerts in Seoul, Red Velvet will visit in total of 10 various countries, such as Japan, Singapore, Philippine, Thailand, Indonesia, and more. Moreover, in June Red Velvet will perform as the “Primavera Sound 2023,” which will take place in Spain as the one and only Asian group amongst other performers.
