SEOUL, June 7 (Yonhap) -- Various children’s films will hit the theaters this summer, starting from “Jurassic World Dominion” to “Pororo Movie."

The film “Jurassic World Dominion” (Jurassic World 3) and “Pokémon: Giratina and the Sky Warrior (2008),” which present Pokémon characters that led the Pokémon bread craze in S. Korea, has been released on the 1st, and more films are ready to be unveiled.

In particular, the film “Lightyear,” the “Toy Story” spin-off, and “Jurassic World 3,” which has a solid fan base, are considered works that will stimulate the childhood of adults.

“Jurassic World 3” depicts the story of dinosaurs scattered all over the world in Dominion due to volcanic eruptions and human crisis.

As the latest installment of the "Jurassic Park" franchise, the film offers plenty of attractions such as large dinosaurs and chase scenes.

“Lightyear,” which will hit the cinemas on the 15th, depicts the origin story of Buzz Lightyear that appear in “Toy Story.” In the 1995 Toy Story animation, Andy buys a Buzz toy after watching a film starring Buzz, and the 2022 “Lightyear” will be that movie within the movie.

Although there isn’t a plot that directly connects to the “Toy Story” series, the film will show the charms of Buzz not as a toy but as a real astronaut, and the cute robot cat Sox. The crew working together to escape the hostile planet will also add fun to the film.

The new Pokémon film will depict the journey of Jiwoo, Pikachu, and Shaymin to regain the twisted time and space due to the battles of Pokemon.

Last year’s Pokémon film was not a big hit, but this year’s movie is expected to be selected from various age groups from children to Generation MZ, as various products featuring Pokémon such as Pokémon bread have captivated consumers' hearts.

Moreover, the film Willbengers, starring characters who look alike Sam Hammington's two sons William and Bentley, will hit the theaters on the 23rd.
