GOT the beat to introduce R&B Hip-Hop song ‘Step Back’

SEOUL, Dec. 28 (Yonhap) -- The new song of GOT the beat, the concept project unit of SM Entertainment, is a R&B Hip-Hop song “Step Back,” according to SM Entertainment on Dec. 28. 

SM has explained that “Step Back” is a song of addictive and repeated sound of base and instruments, containing blunt expressions that show an image of a woman with high self-esteem when it comes to love. The unique voice and talents of the member were said to complete the song.

“Step Back” will be released on Jan. 3, 2022, at 6 p.m. through diverse music platforms, such as FLO, Melon, Genie Music, iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, QQ Music, KuGou Music, and Kuwo Music.

Ahead of the release, GOT the beat plans to show the powerful performances of “Step Back” at “SMTOWN LIVE 2022 : SMCU EXPRESS@KWANGYA" on Jan. 1. 

“GOT the beat” is the first unit that starts off the project “Girls On Top(GOT),” where it introduces new combinations of units of SM’s female artists. The group consists of BoA, Tae-yeon and Hyo-yeon of Girls' Generation, Seul-gi and Wendy of Red Velvet, and Winter and Karina of aespa.
