SEOUL, June 14 (Yonhap) -- K-pop girl group Aespa's latest hit song "Supernova" has been chosen as the background music for the renowned Dubai fountain show "IMAGINE Show," according to their agency, SM Entertainment, on the 14th.

"Supernova," one of the double title tracks from Aespa's first full-length album, has been featured in the show from the 9th of this month and will continue to be used for a year.

The "IMAGINE Show," held in front of Dubai Festival City Mall along the Dubai Canal, is recognized as a major tourist attraction. It boasts the world's largest water screen projection and permanent projection mapping, earning a spot in the Guinness World Records. The show is celebrated for its extravagant fountain displays synchronized with music, utilizing advanced technology such as color projectors, LED lights, lasers, and drones.

This marks the first time a song by a K-pop girl group has been selected as the background music for this show. Previously, EXO's Suho's solo track "Hurdle" was the first K-pop song to be featured.

This milestone highlights the growing global influence of K-pop and Aespa's rising popularity in the international music scene. The selection of "Supernova" for such a prestigious show underscores the song's appeal and the group's significant impact.
