SEOUL September 2 (Yonhap) -- Tickets for the concert featuring South Korean pianist Cho Seong-jin in celebration of the grand opening of LG Art Center Seoul sold out as soon as tickets went on sale.
According to the LG Art Center Seoul on Friday, concert celebrating the grand opening of LG Art Center located in Seoul featuring pianist Cho Seong-jin and conductor Simon Rattle which will take place on October 13 completely sold out its tickets within 40 seconds of its opening at 2.P.M. on September 1.
Collaborative concert between pianist Cho Seong-jin and London Symphonic orchestra will be held in LG Signature Hall located within the LG Art Center Seoul which can withhold over 13 hundred audiences at once.
Cho Seong-jin proved his popularity on the day “Cho Seong-jin and Chopin” hosted by Credia Music and Artist, tickets went on sale by selling out the show as soon as ticketing started in July.
Collaborative concert of Cho Seong-jin and the London Symphonic Orchestra lead by world famous conductor Simon Rattle originally was planned as an invitational event for 1000 people, instead they decided to open up the event to public so that everyone can enjoy the show.
According to the LG Art Center Seoul, in order to align with the vision of LG Art Center “Non-profit performing arts center with the purpose of returning corporate profit to society through the creation and exchange of culture and art.” we decided to open up the concert from private invitational only event to public event and we are going to donate the entire profit to Korea Mecenat Association. The profit donated to the association will be used to help out the upcoming artist in need.
After the opening concert, LG Art Center Seoul is hosting total of 15 different shows throughout their “Opening Festival.” Tickets for “Al di Meola Trio,” “Lena Park: This Moment,” “David Reiland, Korean National Symphonic Orchestra,” “Paavo Järvi, The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and Clara-Jumi Kang: Haydn and Beethoven” and more are already sold out.
LG Art Center Seoul which was originally located at Gangnam district of Seoul was relocated to Magok district in Seoul in 2022 with a newly renovated building.
Cho Seong-jin and London Symphonic Orchestra will perform not only in LG Art Center but also in Lotte Concert hall on September 14, Seoul Art Center on September 15, Concert house on 11th
and Daejeon Art Center on 12th.
