SEOUL, August 3 (Yonhap) -- South Korean director Hong Sang-soo’s movie “Walk Up” was invited to Le Festival international du film de Saint-Sébastien kicking off on September 16, announced foreign provider Finecut on Wednesday.

South Korean movie “Walk Up” is director Hong Sang-soo’s 28th feature film. “Walk Up” will compete against 20 other films for Golden Shell for best film award.

Le Festival international du film de Saint-Sébastien which will kick off in the northern vacation city of Spain, Saint Sebastien is well known for its history and reputation. Including the invitation he received for the festival this September director Hong Sang-soo has been invited to the festival in total of 12 times and was awarded with silver shell for Best Director’s award in 2016 with his film “Yourself and Yours.”

Movie “Walk Up” will be showcased through the special presentation segment of Toronto International Film Festival. Along with “Walk Up” director Park Chan-wook’s “Decision to Leave” and hirokazu Kore-eda’s film “Broker” was also received invitation.

“Walk Up” which was filmed in one of the buildings at Nonhyun-dong of seoul during fall of 2021, stars actress Kwon Hae-hyo, Lee Hae-young, Cho Yoon-hee, and more. Instead of appearing in the movie actress Kim Min-hee worked as a director in chief. The movies “Walk Up” will primer during second half of 2022.

Adding on South Korean director Jung Ji-hae who was awarded from Jeonju international film festival was also invited to Le Festival international du film de Saint-Sébastien under the segment of upcoming directors, with her film “Queen Jeonsun.”
