SEOUL, Dec. 27 (Yonhap) -- Rookie girl group Kep1er who had tested positive while planning for debut in December, are preparing their upcoming launch once again.
Members Xiaoting and Mashiro are fully recovered from COVID-19 and are released from self-quarantine after the judgment of health authorities, according to WakeOne·Swing Entertainment, on Monday.
The band initially planned to debut on December 14th but had to push back the date to January 2022 as one staff got tested positive for the infection. Xiaoting and Mashiro have been tested positive in this process.
“All the members including Xiaoting and Mashiro are currently healthy. We will follow the quarantine guidelines as we prepare for debut," explained the agency.
Kep1er dropped the schedule of the group's first mini-album "FIRST IMPACT" on their official SNS on Sunday and revealed their new debut date, which is Jan. 3.
The debut album explains Kep1er's universe and expresses the colorful individuality of the nine members. The title song “WA DA DA” will show the dynamic and lovely charms of the group.
Kep1er is a girl group formed through an audition TV program "Girls Planet 999: The Girls Saga."
The nine-member group comes from combining the word "Kep," which means catching a dream, and the number "1," meaning the members will come together and become the best.
The group includes 9 members from Korea, China, Japan and plans to carry out various activities over the next two and a half years.
