SEOUL, April 28 (Yonhap) -- “We want to show you a real fierce side of DKB. We also hope to be remembered as a group that people look forward to the next album.” (Junseo)

K-pop group DKB, which showed strong performances based on hip hop, has attempted a new transformation.

“We want to show you our group’s performance and color since this is our third year of debut,” said the leader E-chan in a press conference on Apr. 27, ahead of the new mini-album “REBEL” release.

In the new album, DKB highlighted the image of a ‘rebel.’

D1 said, “If we had focused on telling the story of young love and growth, this time we centered on expressing a rebellious side,” adding, “We want to make an impression on what kind of group DKB is like.”

The title song “Sober” is a track in which Brave Brothers (birth name: Kang Dong-chul), the head of Brave Entertainment and a famous producer known as a ‘hit song maker,’ participated in the lyrics and composition.

The song, based on hip-hop rhythm and sound, expresses the feeling of not having the courage to tell someone you love them without getting drunk, through its addictive melody.

Lune explained, “I want to show you the powerful energy and charismatic side of DKB through this album.”

The album contains tracks such as “Get Away,” which expresses the desire to go somewhere with the person you love, “Rollercoaster,” and a remix version of "Sober."

DKB will also actively interact with global fans starting from this album's activities.

The group will host its first U.S. tour concert, “2022 DKB Meet & Live US TOUR" in June, starting in New York to 6 other cities.

Teo said, “I couldn’t believe it when I first heard the news,” adding, “We never even tried a live show in a music program because we debuted when the COVID-19 pandemic started. We want to go and show off all our charms.”

The member added, “It’s something that I’ve dreamt of before and even after our debut,” adding, “Our fans will see more of our charms when they see us on stage. We will show you how we’ve grown as a global idol.”

DKB’s new album will drop on April 28, 2022, at 6 p.m. through music streaming sites.
