SEOUL, Sept. 27 (Yonhap) -- EBS Class ⓔ, South Korean knowledge lecture program, announced that Yun Bum-mo, director of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA), will provide a commentary on artworks from the "Lee Kun-hee Collection" from Sept. 27 to Oct. 14.
The "Lee Kun-hee Collection," which is regarded as a "donation of the century," has been on display as an exhibition at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea unter the title "MMCA Lee Kun-hee Collection: Masterpieces of Korean Art," however only reserved visitors are available to enter due to COVID-19.
As a result, education-focused broadcaster EBS decided to introduce a digital art museum in collaboration with the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art so that more people can appreciate the "Lee Kun-hee Collection" without any constraints in terms of time and space.
In the broadcast, 12 out of the 1,488 donated art works that best represent the "Lee Kun-hee Collection" as well as the artists' life stories can be seen through a high-performance beam projector.
Director Yun will introduce works such as "Bull" by artist Lee Jung-seop, "Women and Jars" by Kim Whan-ki, "Woman Pounding Grain" by Park Soo-keun, and "Yellow Road" by Chun Kyung-ja.
The program will air on EBS 1TV from Monday to Thursday at 11:55 p.m. and EBS 2TV at 10:20 p.m., and can also be viewed again on the official website (classe.ebs.co.kr).
