SEOUL, Oct. 29 (Yonhap) -- “This is the peak of Ailee-style breakup-repellant song. It is so addictive that the listener won’t even know how 3 minutes have just past and will easily be able to sing along,” said singer Ailee, who has recently dropped her 3rd regular album, “AMY.”
The singer introduced her title song, “Don’t Teach Me,” as “a fantastic mix of swing and hip-hop into dancing” through a press material Friday.
The singer who debuted with “Heaven” in 2012 has been widely loved by the public with her powerful vocal and songs about breakups such as “I Will Show You,” “U&I” and “Don’t Touch Me.”
This is her first music since she moved her agency to THE L1VE, founded by singer Ravi, and a release in 2 years since her last one.
“I have been preparing hard not knowing how 2 years have passed. I feel free like having finished a chapter,” said the singer.
“From the first meeting with the producer, we talked a lot and I appealed my style and concept as a singer. Thanks to Ravi and producer Hwang Hyun positively accepting those ideas, I managed to bring a great production,” added the singer.
The singer took part in writing the lyrics for 8 songs out of the 12 songs included in the album.
“I tried to make the song sound like my story. I tried hard for the public to be able to empathize with the story,” said Ailee emphasizing “empathy” as her main focus in writing lyrics,
“I will try my best to show the very me through this album. As 2022 is the 10th anniversary of my debut, I will well-finish my activities for this album and wish to get a motive for me to prepare another “AMY” (the album).
