SEOUL, July 15 (Yonhap) -- Disney+ will premiere its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered mystery deduction game show "Murder Club" on July 29, the streaming platform said Wednesday.
Set in a different time period and location each episode -- including a baseball stadium, a prison and the Joseon era -- the show has all cast members play suspects in a fictional murder case as they work together to identify the single culprit.
The program uses AI-generated murder case scenarios to enhance viewers' immersion.
Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok of T1, widely regarded as a legend in "League of Legends" esports, will make his first regular appearance on a variety show through the program.
Although Faker has previously appeared as a guest on programs such as MBC's "Radio Star" and tvN's "You Quiz on the Block," this marks his first fixed cast role.
The show also features a diverse lineup of celebrities from various fields, including travel YouTuber Pani Bottle; comedians Choi Yang-rak and Um Ji-yoon; actor Shin Sung-rok; former civil servant Kim Sun-tae; Max Changmin of TVXQ!; Beomgyu of Tomorrow X Together; KT Wiz baseball player Kim Hyun-soo; and chef Park Ju-sung, who appeared under the nickname "Iron Arm" in Season 2 of Netflix's "Culinary Class Wars."
"Murder Club" will debut on July 29 and release new episodes every Wednesday thereafter.
