SEOUL, Feb. 25 (Yonhap) -- The Korea Heritage Service (KHS) and Korea Heritage Agency (KHA) announced on Tuesday that this year’s spring "Royal Culture Festival" will take place from April 26 to May 4.
Held every spring and fall, the festival offers a variety of performances, exhibitions, and hands-on experiences across Seoul’s historic palaces—Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung, Deoksugung, Changgyeonggung, Gyeonghuigung—and Jongmyo Shrine. Last year, approximately 960,000 visitors attended the event.
For this year's festival, organizers are recruiting 70 volunteers, known as "Goong-ee Doong-ee," to assist with various activities. Anyone born before 2006, including non-Korean speakers fluent in Korean, is eligible to apply.
Volunteers will receive activity kits and transportation allowances. Additionally, they will be granted free admission to Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung, Deoksugung, and Changgyeonggung during the festival. Upon completion, participants will be awarded a certificate of participation and a volunteer service record.
Applications can be submitted online until March 16, with the final selection announced on April 3 following a document and video screening process.
