SEOUL, Aug. 24 (Yonhap) -- South Korean director Yeon Sang-ho will hold a dialogue with acclaimed Japanese director Hirokazu Kore-eda at the 51st Toronto International Film Festival, his distributor CJ ENM said Monday.

 

Yeon and Kore-eda will take part in the official TIFF program "TIFF Summit: Dialogues" on Sept. 14 (local time).

 

The program brings together creators and industry figures from around the world to discuss storytelling and the filmmaking process.

 

The two directors are expected to discuss their creative processes, intellectual property adaptations and the continued global expansion of Asian cinema.

 

Yeon has been officially invited to the festival's Special Presentations section with his upcoming film "Lost Paradise." It marks his second consecutive appearance in the section following "Face" last year.

 

"Lost Paradise" is a thriller about a missing son, Sun-woo, who returns home after nine years. Actors Kim Hyun-joo and Bae Hyun-sung star in the film.

 

Kore-eda will also attend the festival after his new film "Look Back" was invited to the Special Presentations section.

 

"Look Back" is based on the manga of the same name by Tatsuki Fujimoto, the creator of "Chainsaw Man," and follows two girls who share a passion for drawing.

 

"Lost Paradise" and "Look Back" are scheduled to hit South Korean theaters in October.
