SEOUL April 26 (Yonhap)-- Amid escalating tensions between Hybe and Min Hee-jin's company, foreign media outlets have extensively covered the ongoing dispute.

Highlighting the tumultuous conflict within the company that nurtured global sensations like BTS and the recent rising star New Jin's, attention has been drawn to the current situation of New Jin's.

On the 25th, U.S. music outlet Billboard reported, "Hybe filed a complaint against Min Hee-jin, CEO of New Jin's label, to the police, and Min held a tearful press conference."

Billboard also relayed Hybe's statement to the press alongside Min's emotional rebuttal during the press conference on the same day.

Recalling Min's previous interview with the outlet in 2022, where she emphasized that New Jin's, as a label, operates independently from Hybe's management, Billboard provided insight into the context.

Additionally, Min mentioned New Jin's members Hani and Haerin during the press conference, stating that they supported her.

Further, AFP reported the previous day, "The Korean company behind K-pop sensation BTS has filed a complaint against a subsidiary's CEO."

AFP conveyed Hybe's statement claiming to have obtained "material evidence" suggesting Min attempted to seize control of the company and separate it from the parent company, along with criticizing Min for allegedly receiving inappropriate coaching on management issues from a shaman.

AFP also included Min's denial of the allegations during the press conference, stating she has no interest in management control.

Introducing Min as one of the producers who achieved significant success in the early 2000s, having worked with stars like Girls' Generation, EXO, and SHINee, AFP highlighted her role in producing New Jin's, a group whose members are currently serving in the military alongside BTS, one of Hybe's most successful K-pop groups.

Reuters reported, "Korea's largest music company has initiated an audit amid suspicions of an executive's departure plan from one of its subsidiaries," adding, "This marks the latest internal discord in K-pop, one of the world's most popular and profitable music industries."

Reuters explained that this dispute is among several recent conflicts in the K-pop industry, citing last year's management dispute between Kakao and SM Entertainment, as well as conflicts between girl group Fifty Fifty and their agency, as precedents.

Quoting a Korean securities analyst's report, Reuters also referenced the industry's current "growing pains," indicating short-term challenges in the K-pop industry.
