SEOUL, March 15 (Yonhap) -- BigHit Music announced that BTS member V will release a new digital single, "FRI(END)S" on the 15th at 1 p.m.
This solo release marks approximately six months since V's first solo album, "Layover," released in September last year.
"FRI(END)S" is a song confessing the desire to progress from being just friends to something more, punctuating the bond between friends. Sweet lyrics, a mellifluous melody, and V's vocals and emotions blend harmoniously.
V expressed, "I prepared this song after thinking that it's something I really wanted to record and share with our fans. It's a charming track, and I believe our ARMY (BTS fandom) will also enjoy it. Please enjoy it to your heart's content."
V, who enlisted in the army as an active-duty soldier in December last year, recorded this song before the release of "Layover."
Alongside the release of the track, the music video for "FRI(END)S" will also be unveiled.
In the music video, V portrays contrasting situations between being single and being in a couple. He paid meticulous attention to subtle expressions, tones, and colors to express these opposite emotions.
On the 16th, a special event called "Friends Party" will be held at a cafe in Seoul's Seongdong-gu, following the release of the new song.
