SEOUL, July 16 (Yonhap) -- NewJeans' Hanni's rendition of "Aoi Sangoshou" continues to dominate popularity charts, particularly in karaoke venues. On the 16th, Kumyoung Entertainment announced that Matsuda Seiko's song "Aoi Sangoshou" (Blue Coral Reef) has reached the top spot on the Kumyoung Karaoke Japan Song Chart.

 

The karaoke accompaniment video for the song on Kumyoung Karaoke's official YouTube channel has also ranked first in real-time view counts.

 

The song gained significant attention after Hanni performed a solo cover at NewJeans' fan meeting at Tokyo Dome last month. A video of Hanni's performance filmed by a fan has surpassed 6 million views on YouTube, generating widespread online buzz. Oricon News in Japan praised Hanni, noting that she "sang the 1980s idol song refreshingly and created a sweet atmosphere with her bright smile."

 

Following this, Hanni performed the song again on Nihon TV's music show "The Music Day 2024" on the 6th.
