Former YG Entertainment CEO, Yang Hyun-suk to attend first trial on attempting to cover up B.I's drug scandal

SEOUL, Nov. 5 (Yonhap) -- The first trial of Yang Hyun-suk (52), former CEO of YG Entertainment, on his having attempted to cover up for B.I (25 real name Kim Han-bin), former leader of idol group iKON, when he was to be investigated for alleged purchase of drugs will take place Friday.

The trial on the former CEO’s indicted according to the Act on The Aggravated Punishment of Retaliatory Crime will take place at 10 a.m. Friday at the Seoul Central District Court.

Although there was a preparatory hearing date in August, this is his first trial. Yang did not attend the preparatory hearing but as attending trials are mandatory, he is expected to show up in the court this time.

Earlier, former trainee A was under police investigation for using drugs during which she told the police about B.I’s alleged purchase of drugs. Yang was sent to court for trying stop the investigation on B.I by coercing and threatening A.
