SEOUL, Feb. 11 (Yonhap) -- K-pop girl group NMIXX will become the first K-pop act to take part in the Brazilian Carnival in Sao Paulo, running February 14-18, its agency JYP Entertainment said Wednesday.

As part of the festivities, NMIXX will appear as a special guest at a street block party hosted by Brazilian artist Pabllo Vittar on Monday, a signature event of the carnival.

“This marks the first time a K-pop artist has participated in the festival,” JYP said. “The performance symbolizes a historic fusion of K-pop, which has captivated global music fans, and Brazilian pop.”

NMIXX and Vittar previously collaborated on the song "MEXE," released in August last year. The track blends NMIXX’s signature sound with Vittar’s powerful and distinctive Brazilian pop style.
